The Strongest vs Oriente Petrolero

In the last round of the Bolivian Apertura Strongest welcomes Oriente Petrolero. To Oriente this match is much more important because with a win they can be champions(if Bolivar doesn`t win which is possible) but the opponent is the worst possible. Sure Strongest can`t win the title but to beat one of their traditional opponents is not without charm and they will need it for the cummulative table. Strongest will want to end this part on a high and they said they owe it to their fans.

Strongest had a bad period 2 months ago which culminated with their club president arrested and thrown in jail for stealing money from his personal cash cow. Some other board directors had to resign as well. Even worse was that the players were not payed for 4 months and Strongest took a big slump which cost them the title. With the new president at charge some wages were payed and the team plays good football.

Oriente is the best home team in the league but as it is the case with the rest of the league they are poor travelers. Just 2-3-5 and 7:15 goal difference shows how tough it will be to beat Strongest away. Oriente beat Universitario and Club Universitario away from home but were beaten against all other strong teams, usually with handicap.

Maybe the biggest weapon for Oriente is their coach Villegas who is the ex Strongest coach that lead the hosts to multile titles. On the team front Oriente is missing their captain and leader on the field Raldes who wil be replaced by Mojica. It is a big blow for the visitors for sure.

Defender Parada is miising for Strongest which announces a strong lineup with Escobar and Melgar in attack.
