08/09年球季昆士兰狮吼改名为布里斯班狮吼，开始交上好运，2011年历史性得到常规赛冠军，至今已3次在季后赛封王，虽然今季有射手贝利沙及后卫法兰积２名主力离队，但由于教练梅夫利留队领军，相信战绩不会大跌，依然是今季澳职的冠军热门。

无疑贝利沙是狮吼近年的前线主力，而且曾经成为澳职神射手，惟上季在常规赛的入球数字下降至11球，离队未必是坏事。事实上，新加盟的舒肯捷迪前锋古迪斯是马其顿国脚级球员，曾经在哈萨克斯坦联赛取得大量入球，绝对有能力顶替贝利沙的首席射手位置。

另外，来自乌得勒支的中场沙路达在08年至10年期间曾替狮吼效力，相信可以在短期内重新融入球队，加上中场布莱治效力过纽伦堡，中场米拿更曾经是曼联球员，现时狮吼的整体实力，依然是澳职中的顶级，有机会再次以常规赛及季后赛冠军为目标。

Team summary: It's the end of an era for the 3-time A-League Champions as the club's all-time leading goal scorer, Besart Berisha, has departed south to Melbourne Victory. Mike Mulvey has hinted that his side will be more fluid in attack this season with front players interchanging positions constantly to counter the loss of their main marksman. The departure of one of the league's premier wing-backs, Ivan Franjic, is equally damaging as his forays forward and deliveries from the right were a feature of Brisbane's title winning sides.

Conclusion: Mike Mulvey faces by far his toughest test since taking over from now Soccerroos gaffer, Ange Postecoglou, in February of 2013. One wonders whether new striker, Mensur Kurtisi, or perhaps Jean Carlos Solorzano can fill part of the massive void left by Besart Berisha. It would be a considerable feat if Mulvey was able to solve this conundrum and go back to back. I doubt it though.
