反正而家就6分冲超差距，冬歇整容翻嚟，系时候出去揾吃噶啦，主场仲未开过斋噶，喺咁打客场，之前一轮终于有得打结果就0-0闷和咗，而家整队蛋散你叹下……

Looking at the stats/league table one could think that these are teams with more or less the same quality, potential and resources. That’s not the case.

Uniao has set the promotion as their main goal since the beginning of the season. With disappointing results so far, the board decided to make another investment in strengthen the team in this winter market and they’ve been very active lately adding more power to an already quality team. The performances delivered with a team plagued with non-regulars against top-flight Porto and Braga may give an idea of the potential this team has and what they can achieve once they finally hit it off.

By one reason or the other they can’t find the home results they are looking for which explains their table position. They are always dominant but always fail to deliver. I have the feeling this bad run will terminate really soon and the fact that promotion is only 6 points away means that nothing is lost. CM Ruben Andrade is suspended while LB Stephane returns to the team.

The whole concept “team in problems” could be applied to Beira-Mar. There is a constant flow of players arriving and leaving since the beginning of the season, fans are furious with the board decisions, salaries are yet to be paid (nothing uncommon in this league) and they are winless in the last 8 starts. 3 fixtures ago they’ve hired a new coach Paulo Alves (a competent one in my view) and he decided to strengthen the defence and play a very cautious game.

As a result they’ve collected 3 0:0 draws against Freamunde and Viseu (2 of the worst home offences) and Leixoes (the worst away outfit of the league). An already short squad is being hit by a wave of suspensions in this game: CB Diego (18/1), LB Vinha (21/0), CM Edu (20/2), Cm Anderson (18/1) are all suspended. FW Dieguinho (18/0) and FW Embalo (5/0) recently left the club leaving Paulo Alves with a very short list of options for the game. CM Assis (21/1) returns from suspension. Even with the addition of new signings Kingsley and Ellison Baiano and the Youth player Miguel, the group for Madeira seems quite short to bring anything positive.

In my view, the quality difference and team news makes this handicap quite possible.
