阿德莱德联在澳职成立的头4个球季，1次夺得常规赛冠军、2次取得常规赛亚军，但自从08年在亚冠杯决赛不敌大阪飞脚，战绩随即开始倒退。庆幸的是，上季阿德莱德联邀请到曾经带领杰志夺得香港甲组联赛冠军的甘巴尔执教，战绩总算开始回升。

Team Summary: Spanish manager, Josep Gombau, said from day 1 of his tenure that it will take at least a season before he could fully integrate his Barcelona-esque style on his team. There were definite signs of the 'tiki-taka' in the Reds' play last season but it was often slow and easy to combat. Josep hopes that by installing former Barcelona and Spain legend, Guillermo Amor, as technical director, it will bring their game to an entirely new level with quicker ball movement and intelligent running off the ball.

Conclusion: Gombau has made some astute signings in the off-season including fellow compatriot, Pablo Sanchez, who will add experience and guile to the front third. Jeggo and McGowan are young, promising Aussie prospects for whom will add a youthful vibrancy to what is an ageing side.
