珀斯光辉曾经被喻为澳职鱼腩部队，惟近年的战绩已有改善，至少能够先后3次跻身季后赛，包括在11/12年球季夺得亚军。今季继续由教练坚尼路维执教，目标当然是争夺重返季后赛，但由于队中有众多主力离队，恐怕珀斯未必能够满足高层及球迷的期望。

事实上，今季珀斯有射手史美斯、中场查维斯杜特、赖恩艾华斯及丹尼尔达施华离队，虽然新球员包括前锋李察加西亚、中场尼高斯及杜比历质素甚高，不过正选阵容大变，难免需要时间去适应，大家不能预期珀斯在今季的季初赛事能够有强势的演出。

另外，位于偏远西方的珀斯致命伤始终是作客差劲，例如上季在联赛作客14场，只得1胜3和10负，假如珀斯未能改变作客不济的弱点，单靠在主场抢分实在很难跻身季后赛，唯有寄望新球员尽快融入球队，否则，今季珀斯只能够继续在主场抢分报答球迷支持。

Team summary: After been given the managerial role on an interim basis following the sacking of Alistair Edwards, Kenny Lowe's 4 wins from 17 was enough to convince the powers that be that he was the right man for the job. Credit where credit's due, Lowe has done well to get rid of most of the 'dead wood' in the off-season with a long list of 30-somethings shown the proverbial door. Coming in, standout signings include ex-Western Sydney winger Youssouf Hersi, Republic of Ireland international Andy Keogh, former Newcastle Jets captain, Ruben Zadkovich. and ex and current Socceroos in Richard Garcia and Mitch Nichols, respectively.

Conclusion: On paper, Perth Glory should at least better last season's finish of 8th. There's a lot of proven quality in the side. Personally, Kenny Lowe's credentials as manager are questionable. Just how far Perth can go this season will depend on how Lowe sets them up and if he can convince his players to buy into his ideas. Goals were hard to come by for the Glory in 13-14 with an average of just over one a game, the worst in the league. I feel they have done enough to rectify this problem. Bar any injuries to key players I expect Perth to give many a team a headache or two, especially at NIB Stadium.
