亞冠盃 3-5 16:30 [澳洲甲3]墨爾本勝利 - 大邱FC[韩K联6]

AFC Champions League

Australian champions Melbourne Victory will begin their CL campaign with a home game against South Korean Daegu FC. This season in A-League Victory are scoring a lot of goals but also concede regularly, 42:27 goal difference in 21 games which gives 3.3 goal average per game, 13/21 over 2.5.

At home they have had a lot of problems with only 5-3-4 record, 23 goals scored in 12 games but also as many as 17 goals conceded.

Last year in CL Victory were not able to progress past group stage, finishing 3rd but playing a lot of entertaining and high-scoring games: 2:1, 3:3, 1:0, 1:4, 2:6, 2:2.

For this season they have strenghtened their team with two well known veteran players, Swedish striker Ola Toivonen and Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda. Both are already performing, with Honda having 6 goals in 12 games and Toivonen 10 in 14. Their offense look very potent with Honda, Toivonen, Australian national player James Troisi and New Zealand NT striker Kosta Barbarouses(11 goals in 21 games). On the other hand their defence doesn't look that good and lacks players who are already proven on the bigger level.

Deagu FC have had a strange season last year, starting horribly with 1 win in 15 games but then, after the World Cup break, they have been in excellent form(13 wins in 23 games) which catapulted them from the bottom of the table to 7th place. They have also won the Korean Cup, which gave them the Champions League spot. In last season they have had 47:56 goal difference in 38 games, 2.7 per game, 20/38 over 2.5. They will be looking to carry on with their fine form and already in first game of the season they've had a respectable 1:1 draw away to champions Jeonbuk. Daegu's most notable players are the Brazilian forward trio: Edgar(8 goals in 18 games last season), Dario and most notably Cesinha who looks like a very interesting player(last season's K-league top assist player with 11 final passes and 8 goals). On the other hand their defensive players doesn't look that impressive in comparison.

So this are two teams that posses a lot of interesting offensive players. But both teams look imbalanced, with star attacking players a lot better then very average looking defences. I expect a high-scoring and entertaining game, with both teams good offences finding the net and exposing each other teams defenses.
